The Study of the Intellectual History of Liberal Education in the West: 1890-2005

自古希腊以来，博雅教育（或“自由”教育）一直是西方一种支配性的教育观念，其影响在英美两国影响尤为深远。对博雅教育的研究可以从教育哲学、教育思想史、学术史三个角度进行切入。本文对1890-2005年间教育史（特别是教育思想史）视角的博雅教育研究进行了评述，文章总结了已有研究所取得的成就并指出其局限性所在。最后，文章展望了未来博雅教育思想史研究的可为空间。

The idea of liberal education has been a dominant educational thought since ancient Greek， and it has strong impacts in Britain and America. The research on liberal education can be approached from different perspectives such as educational philosophy， history of educational thought， and intellectual history. This paper summarizes the strength and limits of the research， and it also provides the future directions on the research of history of educational thought.
