外国留学生校友工作在创建世界一流大学的工作中发挥着重要的作用。学成回到各自国家的留学生在中外政治、外交、经贸以及文化教育交流中发挥着积极的桥梁和促进作用，所以在留学生当中开展校友工作是十分必要的。国外大学针对回归各国留学生所开展的行之有效的联络工作，有很多地方值得我们思考和借鉴。

Overseas alumni management plays an important role in the process of building the world─class university. After completion of their studies， returned overseas graduates work as bridges and promotes between China and their respective home countries in politics， diplomacy， trade， and culture and education. Hence it is necessary to develop overseas alumni services for effective networking， and learn from successful experience of universities abroad in this area.
