发韧于20世纪初年，以开办普通中小学堂、推行新式学校教育为表征的普通教育近代化是什么因素推动的?学术界以往那种单纯的政治经济角度的归因应该说是不甚正确，至少是不尽全面的。大量的史实表明，除了政治经济的原因外，近代教育社团的殚精竭虑和不遗余力也是一个十分重要的因素。
