The Implementation of Modern Citizenship Education in the Curricula of Compulsory Education in China: Based on the Analysis of the Curriculum Standards and Guidance Outline of Related Subjects
T he primary goal of modern citizenship education is to cultivate the younger generation to be qualified cit izens with social participat ion abil it ies. Nowadays， cit izensh ip education aro und the world mainly has a three-set model of lear ning， including knowledge learning， skill learning and values learning，and it focuses on ten core issues such as democracy principles and process ， values of democratic citizenship ， citizen's rights， and responsibilities. T he authors anal yzed policy and curricul um documents of three main curricula: morality subjects (Morality and Life， or Moralit y and Society， and Ideology and Morality) ， H is t ory and Society， and Comprehensive Practical Activities， and found t hat ext ens ive development has taken place in the cit izenship education of compulsory education in China. Although there are still some aspects needing to be balanced and connected among these curricula ， it is of g reat value that we have formed a three-dimensional structure that s uppor ts curricula. It is an innovat ion for the pract ice of cit izenship educat ion in China to establish connect ions between formal cur ricula ， which conforms to t he trend of modern cit izenship education and provides a unique model of curriculum group， and can also provide r eference of citizenship education to the development of informal curricula.
