Proximity, Empathy, Sense and Sensibility: A Comparative Study of the View on Friendship between Foreign Students in China and Chinese Students with Overseas Experiences

Based on a survey among 215 foreign students studying in China and 200 Chinese students with overseas experiences， the authors conduct a comparative study of the view on friendship between Chinese and foreign students. According to the survey results， there are three dimensions of cross-cultural friendship between Chinese and foreign students: proximity， empathy， sense and sensibility. From the perspective of enhancing the cultural adaptability of foreign students， the paper puts forward several suggestions to promote cross -cultural friendship.
