北京高师平民教育社述论

The Analysis of Populace Education League in Beijing Advanced Normal School

五四时期，北京高师平民教育社通过刊发《平民教育》杂志、约请名流、学者进行专题演讲、编译书籍等活动，不仅形成了系统的，颇具革命色彩的平民教育思想体系，而且在全校范围内掀起了平民教育活动的高潮，已然成为中国宣传平民教育以及整个新教育的一大中心。这些成就的取得，是与该社拥有一支教育专业的骨干力量、经营方式较为灵活，且得到校方的支持分不开的。但是，由于脱离不了教育救国论的藩篱，平民教育社最终走向衰落。

During May Fourth Movement， through such activities as launching Populace Education magazines， inviting celebrities and scholars for lectures， compiling books， Populace Education League in Beijing Advanced Normal School not only formed the systematic and revolutionary Populace Education ideology， but also set off the climax of Populace Education， and became an important center of propagating Populace Education and New Education. These achievements could attribute to the possession of a backbone team of education professionals， the flexible mode of operation and the school support. However， Populace Education League eventually declined due to its narrow view of Education Saving the Nation.
