The theme of World Congress of Comparative Education Societies reflects the concerns and trends in the field of comparative education. This paper analyzes the theme of 14th World Congress， and points out that the future direction of comparative education theory is to define the border of discipline or field， then cross the borders. The author argues that the value of comparative education lies in crossing borders within and between education and societies， and understanding by dialogue.
