The development of the design-based research is the result of increasingly deepening of research in design science and learning sciences in American educational research field. The design-based research is characterized of intervention， iterative， process， utility and theory orientation. The development of design-based research in American has gone through the early exploring and system establishment stage since 1990s. Now， it is heading towards the extensive and deeper sustainable development stage.
