Establishing Entrepreneurial University：Respond of American Research University

随着知识经济的到来，大学已经由社会的边缘组织转变为经济社会的轴心机构，在实现创新、促进区域经济发展、提升国家核心竞争力等方面发挥越来越重要的作用。为了平衡社会外部需求与自身发展，一些[具有企业家精神]的美国研究型大学正在调整其传统的职能，一种新的大学发展模式--创业型大学日渐崛起。分析美国创业型大学的内涵、崛起的动力机制和典型特征，使我们认识到创业型大学对知识经济的重要意义，并为我国研究型大学的发展提供有益的启示。

With the arrival of the knowledge-based economy， some of American research universities have turned from social periphery organization into the core structure of economy society. It plays a more and more important role in many aspects such as realizing innovation， promoting regional economy development， and increasing national core competitiveness. To balance the social external requirements and internal development， some American research universities with [Entrepreneurial spirit] are now adjusting its traditional functions. A new university development mode--Entrepreneurial University is emerging. Analyzing the content， motivation mechanism of rising and typical characteristics of American Entrepreneurial University can help us be aware of the importance of entrepreneurial university for the knowledge-based economy and provide reference for the development of China's Research University.
