The Support of Higher Education to Regional Economic and Social Development：Recent Policies and Practices in UK

20世纪90年代以来，英国高等教育的发展出现了新的动向，一个区域性发展的议程进入了英国高等教育领域，政府鼓励大学与地方、区域展开互动，大学也重新燃起了服务地方、区域的热情。本文拟对英国高等教育政策调整的背景与动因、大学与区域互动的具体进展、存在的问题以及未来走向等进行梳理与阐述。

In the 1990s， the Higher Education in UK witnessed a new mode of development. Regional agendas became increasingly important to colleges and universities. The government encouraged higher education institutions to interact with communities， reactivating their enthusiasm of serving communities. This paper explores issues related to this new mode of development， and introduces the context and reasons for the adjustment of higher education， the current development， the existing problems and future orientations of the interaction between universities and communities in UK.
