Structural Adjustment and Education in Africa

Structural Adjustment Program driven by IMF and the World Bank was an important part of African economic and educational policy carried out in 1980s and 1990s.The reform， however， failed finally in Africa. Education in many African countries which carried out the Structural Adjustment Program experienced a standstill， or even a retrogression. In those countries， education not only failed to meet the need of social development， but also missed development opportunities.
