美国高校学生事务发展的最新趋势及其启示

Current Trends of Student Affairs Development in American Universities and Their Implications

本研究选取了美国高校「学生事务」的三大专业期刊为研究对象，采用定量研究的方法，对近10年来三大期刊中近千篇文章的内容和主题词分别进行编码、统计。研究结果表明，「学生」始终是「学生事务」发展的重中之重；关注「学生发展」是「学生事务」专业的核心理念；学生事务专业人员自身的发展为「学生事务」提供了人员保障；而「参与」、「合作」的管理模式则是提高「学生事务」管理水平的制度保障。这一研究结果对我国高校「学生事务」观念和制度的发展均有很大的借鉴意义。

This research selected three professional journals on student affairs in American universities (from 1997 to 2006) to investigate current trends of student affairs development in American universities. In order to take an objective and comprehensive picture， the author took quantitative approach including content analysis and topic analysis. The main research findings are: (a) “Students” are always the focus of “student affairs” ; (b) “Student Development” is regarded as a core ideal of “student affairs” ; (c) The professional development of “personnel” provides qualified human resources for “student affairs” ; (d) “Involvement” and “Cooperation” model promotes the efficiency of student affairs administration. All of these findings are meaningful for the development of student affair in China.
