信息技术环境下西部地区新建本科院校大学生英语学习现状个案研究--以长江师范学院为例

A study on the students' English language learning in local universities supported by information technology in western China—Taking Yangtze Normal University as an example

本研究通过问卷调查和访谈探讨了信息技术环境下我国西部地区新建地方本科院校大学生英语学习现状。调查显示：学生英语学习的整体状况不好，被调查学生学习英语时很少利用网络资源，基于Web 2.0 平台的各种虚拟社区在语言学习中的应用更少，电子工具的利用率很低。调查同时发现大多数学生并没有积极采用已经被证明有效的英语学习策略，对此，本文探究了产生上述现象的原因。

Information Technology (IT) plays a more and more important role in foreign language learning. This article explores the status quo of local university students' language learning supported by IT. The results reveal that the present situation of local university students' language learning is not good. On the one hand， they don't make use of the Internet to facilitate their language learning， not to mention to benefit from virtual community which is based on Web 2.0 platform and they don't use electronic tools to learn English either. On the other hand， they don't even adopt English learning strategies which have already been proved useful for language learning. Finally， some possible reasons are discussed.
