英文摘要 | The fields, modes, and styles of discourse combine to produce various registers, which are not innate, and have to be acquired. The syllabus Language in Use based on linguistics and sociolinguistics worked out by Halliday et al is an important attempt to reform language teaching. Chinese learners of English also face the similar problem of register awareness. Based on our analysis of Chinese learner corpus, there exists a kind of register specific to Chinese learners of English: they tend [to write what they speak.] In other words, they use the same register to express different social needs. Both aspects of teaching and learning should be considered in order to raise their register awareness. |
