The Internationalization of Curriculum Studies

In this paper the author reports on an organizational and intellectual movement underway in the U.S.A. known as “the internationalization of curriculum studies，” supported by the inauguration last year of the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies and its American affiliate， the American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies. In this article the author provides a brief organizational history of this movement and concludes with next steps toward internationalization， and concomitantly， toward the advancement of the field worldwide. The next steps propose emerged from Pinar’s work editing the first international handbook of research in curriculum studies.
