The Summary and Ponderation of the International Debate on Distance Education as a Discipline

文章採用文獻研究法對上個世紀80年代國外遠程教育學術界出現的學科論爭鳴作了系統的描述和梳理，總結並提出了這次爭鳴對目前我國遠程教育專業發展和學科建設的啟示。

Grounded in voluminous literature review， this paper gives a summary and reorganization of the debate on whether distance education was a discipline， which occurred in the late 1980s involving several important figures in this field from different countries. This debate can give us a lot of inspiration and render further discussion on the establishment of distance education as a discipline as well as a program in the domain of China’s higher education.
