Janus' Metaphor: An Analysis on Academic Elite's Role and Authority in the Context of De-administralization

在当代学术体制运行过程中，学术精英在很大程度上构成了学术权力的行使主体，他不仅承担了学术共同体的守门人角色，而且也在学术与政治（行政）之间发挥了调停功能。但是，作为人神合体的学术精英所具有的两面性表明，没有行政权力的制衡和公开透明的学术内部和外部监督机制，没有约束的学术权力也同样可能带来学术失序的风险。

In modern academic system， academic elite to a large extent constitutes the principal part of academic authority. They not only play the role of gatekeeper for academic community， but also function as the mediator between academic and political (or administrative) forces. However， the ambivalent character of academic elite， as a mixture of angel and human， manifests that without the checks and balances of administrative forces or the open and transparent oversight mechanisms from the inner or outer academic community， academic authority with unrestrained power also brings us the potential risk of academic disorder.
