General Education General Education and the Ideology of University─A Study on Allan Bloom’s Thoughts about University General Education

艾伦˙布鲁姆〈Allan David Bloom〉认为，“回到传统，阅读经典”开展通识教育需要重新审视大学理念。大学应该以理性为基石，抗拒来自社会的压力，坚持学术自由的理念，帮助孤立无援的理性，弥补民主政体中个人所缺乏的自主精神，提升大学生的精神水平。

As Allan Bloom presents， it is necessary to reconsider the ideology of university for offering general education by resuming traditions and providing classics to college students. University should keep rational and have enough power to resist the pressure from society. However， today’s university is gradually losing academic freedom， rationality and individual independence. To improve the well-being of university students， universities are suggested to offer general education through restoring traditions and providing classics to students.
