Randomized Controlled Trials（RCT）in Medical Education Research

This paper reviewed the use of RCT in medical education research. The review showed the RCT has been used in a few educational research programs. In the context of medical evaluation， it has been argued that RCT should not be considered because students are given no choice over their learning methods. But in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the various teaching methods， the medical educationists recommend that the RCT must be used widely， and indicate failing to undertake an RCT of teaching methods in medical education in unethical.
