英文摘要 | The aim of this paper is to explore the recent development of the subject of history of education in Great Britain since 2000. As the platform for academic communication, History of Education Society (UK) promoted the subject development through a series of activities, such as annual meeting, publications, database and academic awards. Based on the statistical analysis of the articles from the journal History of Education, we can conclude some features of the research in the aspects of time period, area, and theme. The Institute of Education, University of London is the center of history of education research in Great Britain. It gained steady development in scholar group, curriculum, and publications. In conclusion, history of education subject in Great Britain has four distinguishing features: continuously extension of research scope and theme; active involvement in interdisciplinary research; innovation of theory and method; taking emphasis on self-reflection of the subject; and the enhancement of international communication and co-operation. |
