To know about human essence is the fundamental purpose of philosophy research; it is also the logical starting-point of educational theory and practice. The paper， starting from the logical starting－point of educational theory and practice， i. e. human essence， interprets the profound connotation of Cassirer’s symbolic philosophy; and then makes a deep reflection on the viewpoints of modern education’s essentiality， objective， curriculum， instruction and educational technology.
