英文摘要 | In order to find an indigenous model for developing education in the west areas, educators from other areas need to value the perspectives and experiences of local people with regard to the meaning, importance and relevance of education in their lives. In this article, participatory approach is viewed as an effective way to realize this goal. By citing an example from her recent teacher training program, the author illustrates how powerful participatory methods can be in arousing teachers' intrinsic motivation for reform, in bringing their personal experiences to light, in enhancing their self-confidence as professionals, and in empowering them as action researchers in their own classrooms |
