The Development of Basic Education in China over the Past 30Years：A Summary

[千舟险过万重山]是对我国改革开放以来基础教育改革与发展之艰难历程和复杂体验的诗性表达，以此研究成果概述了我国基础教育30年改革全程的演化脉络和总体状态，系统阐述了如下基本观点：必须在当代中国社会与教育变革相互关系的意义上，认识基础教育改革的性质与任务；必须充分认识基础教育当代变革的艰巨性与复杂性；科学发展观在基础教育改革中的体现，是重视、支持教育学科的发展，提升教育改革中教育科学的含金量。

In its tracing of the developments in basic education in China over the past 30 years， this paper illustrates the difficulty and complexity of education reform on the scale required in China. It situates the reforms in the changing social and cultural context， examines some of the problems of harmonizing educational and social change， and argues that the scientific approach is likely to resort in greatest progress.
