臺灣客家青年世代投入海運業之探析

Investigation and Research on Taiwan Hakka Youth Generation Devoted to Ocean Freight Industry

一般大眾對客家族群的刻板印象，多侷限在山區、採茶、艱困等符號上；然客家族群在世界各地多種產業活動，俱有傑出表現。臺灣是海島，航出去迎向世界，是必要也是契機的開端。本研究旨在探討青年世代的客家族群，是如何運用族群特質，對自己未來的人生做出選擇；同時帶著血液中的客家精神因子，迎向變動不居的世局。透過統計方式對新一代客家青年從事海運業的現況，進行相關產業參與調查，除以翻轉大眾對客家族群的既定印象，重新定義客家特質與精神之外，也因為現代科技進步，海運業經濟收入勝過陸地工作，客家年輕世代更內化傳統客族精神，積極形塑客家族群在海上的新樣貌。

When mentioning the Hakka people, the general image would be a direct association to mountains areas, tea picking, and hardship; however, the Hakka group has outstanding performance in various industrial activities around the world. Taiwan is an island, sailing out to meet the world is the beginning of necessity and opportunity. This research aims to explore how the younger generation of Hakka apply their characteristics to the choices of the future life and face the fast-changing world with Hakka spiritual characteristics. We will use statistical methods to investigate the current status of the new Hakka youth generation engaged in the ocean freight industry. We hope to shift the conventional image of the public towards the Hakka people and redefine the Hakka characteristics and spirit. On the other hand, because of the advancement of modern technology, the economic income of the ocean freight industry is better than that of ordinary land-based work. Thus, the young generation of Hakka has internalized the traditional Hakka spirit and actively created a new appearance of the Hakka group on the sea.
