Between Virtual and Real: The History of "Lukang Mosque"

「鹿港清真寺」是一則歷史謎團，在臺灣部分穆斯林心中認定為島內史上首座清真寺。即使明、清、日三個歷史時期裡，官書文獻並未有所謂「清真寺」的紀錄，但在鹿港耆老的口傳與寺廟的碑記中對該地早期的穆斯林後裔的活動與有關「清真寺」的記憶。然而，鹿港歷史上是否曾有清真寺，為本文所要探討的的重點。本文先從鹿港地區的穆斯林後裔聚落談起，再梳理前人紀錄之口述訪談與田野之採集資訊，最後探討歷史上鹿港是否曾有過「清真寺」的可能。

 

“Lukang Mosque 鹿港清真寺” is a historical mystery. It is recognized as the first mosque in the history of the island in the hearts of some Muslims in Taiwan. During the period from the Ming Dynasty to the Japanese rule, there was no record of the so-called “mosque” in the official literature, but in the oral traditions of Lukang and the inscriptions on the temples, the activities of the early Muslim descendants and the memory of the “mosque” were recorded. However, whether there has been a mosque in the history of Lukang is the focus of this article. This article begins with a discussion of the Muslim descendants in the Lukang area, and then sorts out the oral interviews of the predecessors and the information collected by the field, and finally explores whether there has been a mosque in Lukang in history.
