A Study on the Application of Personalized Learning in Principal’s Leadership for Learning
Principal’s leadership for learning is an emerging issue for school principal to conduct professional leadership. And personalized learning is also a new leaning approach for 21st century learners. What’s the relationship and how to connect these two concepts is the primary of this preliminary study. The main purpose of this study was to explore the meaning and domains of principals’ leadership for learning as well as personalized learning. And the connection of principal’s leadership for learning and personalized learning was analyzed. Base on the analysis, five strategies for applying personalized leaning in principal’s leadership for learning were evolved: 1. Identify student need that is on the top priority, 2. Design the effective pedagogical structure, 3. Pick the proper information products or technologies, 4. Encourage faculty training and professional development, 5. Be prepared to evaluation and get feedback for improvement. Some conclusions and suggestions were made for principals to use personalized learning in leadership for leaning.
