A Study of Performance Evaluation on Elderly Types of Adult Educational Organisation: With Special Reference to the Elderly
This study is based on the perspectives of adult education professionalism adopted from a complete and systematic performance evaluation model and indicators that suit elderly types of adult education organisation. It evaluated the performance outcomes among the elderly type of organisation in particular. Objects of the study included Evergreen Schools and Senior Education Centres in Taiwan. A total of 1,104 copies of questionnaires were sent out, and 779 copies (71%) were returned. The main findings of the study are: Firstly, current managerial performance and needs among the elderly type of adult education organisation included lack of young employees and insufficiency of adult and elderly education professional knowledge among the employees. Secondly, elderly types of adult education organisations were doing well in terms of actual performance in the following aspects: market demand, vision, role position, programme planning, and application of activity. However, they needed improvement in the following areas: formulation of government regulation, funds input from the government, use of related industries, amount of input from financial and human resources, financial management, personnel management, and public relation marketing. Thirdly, the relationship between each performance evaluation indicator and product outcome is summarised as follows: it showed that a better performance from goal completion was due to a better performance from market demand, Vision, and financial management, which, in turn, led to more customer satisfaction. Finally, an ideal performance of organisation was related to whether the organisation was doing well in market demand, role position and programme planning.
