Global Mobilization: A Case Study of Generation Study Abroad

在全球化的二十一世紀，海外和國際經驗已成為全球人力市場中不可或缺的條件之一。有鑑於此，美國國際教育協會（Institute of International Education, IIE）在2015年開始推動新世代留學（Generation Study Abroad）計畫，鼓勵更多美國大學生前往其他國家留學，以厚實自身條件。本文主要在介紹該計畫的源起、目標和發展重心，以及推行該計畫的挑戰和未來展望。同時，也從參與新世代留學的學校和國家，介紹各校推行 新世代留學計畫的重心及目前推展的成果。最後，將新世代留學計畫的經驗，針對臺灣目前推動的海外留學教育，提供參考與借鏡之處。

In view of the importance of oversea studying experiences, Institute of International Education (IIE) launched Generation Study Abroad to increase the number of American College student to study abroad. The purpose of that is to enhance the life-long learning capacity, problem-solving skills and expanded the multicultural and international mindset of American college students. This study introduces the Generation Study Abroad from its origin, goals and how it implemented in various college campus. It also describes the focus and current outcomes affer its first year. Finally, it hopes to provide suggestions and recommendations for study abroad education in Taiwan.
