Occupation-Based Marriage Matching Table of Secondary School and Elementary School Teachers in Taiwan

臺灣中小學教師有很高的職業社經地位且工作條件良好，過去研究中也指出中小學教師在職業流動，特別是代內流動上具有高度的封閉性，而此職業特性是否也表現在其婚姻配對上而形成職業婚配封閉性？本研究運用中研院社會所建置之「社會資本的建構與效應」資料庫，採百分比交叉婚配表及對數線性與對數相乘等方法進行婚配表分析，藉以探究中小學教師的婚姻配對結構，並與其他職業進行比較。研究顯示：各項職業本人與配偶職業相同之相對機會中，以農、林、漁、牧人員的封閉性最高，而中小學教師居於第二；此外，職業間的社經地位差距愈大，則婚姻配對的機會就愈小。

Secondary school and elementary school teachers in Taiwan have a high occupational socioeconomic status and satisfactory working conditions. Previous studies have revealed that the intragenerational occupational mobility of secondary school and elementary school teachers is particularly low. The occupational outflow and inflow of secondary school and elementary school teachers are highly limited. Whether this occupational characteristic is also reflected by teachers primarily marrying other teachers, leading to closed occupation-based marriage matching that is conducive to the development of class consciousness, must be resolved. In this study, data were retrieved from the Construct and Effect of Social Capital Database instituted by the Institute of Sociology at Academia Sinica. Subsequently, percentage cross tabulation, log-linear analysis, and log multiplication were applied to establish and analyze a marriage matching table to explore the marriage matching structure within secondary school and elementary school teachers and to compare the marriage matching structure with those of people in other occupations. Regarding the probabilities of intraoccupational marriage, people in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and animal husbandry exhibited the highest level of intraoccupational marriage, followed by secondary school and elementary school teachers. In addition, people in occupations involving a greater distribution of socioeconomic status were associated with a lower probability of marrying one another.
