中文摘要 | 本文以張愛玲散文為輔,論析其首部短篇小說集《傳奇》 。張將眼光放在塵世,寫人生裡最素樸的情感,且是經得起時間汰洗、不易抹滅的那種永恆與普遍。寫愛情,她將人物愛著的狀態簡單以「快樂」名之,而隱藏文本隙縫中的諸多「情緒」總不斷隨著文字滲透而出,除「蒼涼」之外,更潛存對「愛」(愛情、親情)的強烈需索。愛戀對象的有心錯置、父母之愛不是依傍而是精神的囚虐,隨著「愛」的內涵不斷翻轉、歧義,便成了極端的「恐怖」,使愛的光線褪淡,世界彷彿僅剩幽闇。作品調性雖是悲哀,作者亦以寬容與撫愛之姿看待人性,在「恐怖」與「愛」的相互對照後,顯襯出悲憫與饒恕的底色,在冷色調的背後,遂有著厚實和溫暖。 |
英文摘要 | This paper refers to a number of Eileen Chang’s essays to make a detailed study of the short stories included in Chuanqi (傳奇 Romance) , her first collection of short stories. Consistently focusing on worldly affairs, Chang depicts the most primal and enduring of human emotions. In describing the experience of romantic love simply as “joy,” she imbues her text with a subtle mood which continually comes to the surface at various points. In these works Chang describes desolation; the intensity, urgency, and disappointments of romantic love; the emotional oppressiveness of parental love; and how love can be transformed into a dread that renders one’s entire world a place of gloom and doom. Despite her tragic story lines, Chang manages to also present the tolerant and caring side of human nature, juxtaposing dread and love to create a space for the emergence of sympathy and forgiveness, using cold-heartedness to set the stage for the emergence of genuine kindness. |
