UNESCO and the Development of Education for International Understanding

聯合國教科文組織從成立之日起就把國際理解作為它的基本工作目標和工作內容之一,把國際理解教育作為促進世界和平與安全的重要途徑之一。教科文組織通過組織各種相關研討專案、國際會議等多種活動促進各國國際理解教育的開展和實施, 並一直致力於通過多種方式發展和豐富國際理解教育的內涵。國際理解教育在全球化的今天成為各國各級各類教育中不可或缺的一個重要組成部分。

From the outset, Education for International Understanding (EIU) has been one of the UNESCO's fundamental aims, the integral part of its comprehensive work, and the effective way to maintain the world peace and security. UNESCO has strived to promote the development of EIU from theory to practice through various programs, projects, activities as well as the international educational conferences. EIU has been an important component of contemporary education throughout the world thanks to the endeavor UNESCO has made.
