The honor system in America is a system which restricts the students ’ misconduct of academic research. The honor system emphasizes self-management by the students. It also calls for trusting students ’ sense of morality and the sense of responsibility. The honor system is an effective measure in restricting students’ dishonesty conducts in academic research. The article discusses the honor system from four aspects: the honor pledge， the honor committee， the procedure of dealing with the dishonesty conduct and the punishment. The article also analyzes the significance of the honor system and the enlightenment for the academic integrity construction in the universities in our country.
