英文摘要 | STEM has become an important trend in domestic and overseas curriculum reform of basic education. In order to explore how to integrate STEM into science textbooks, this research analyzes British Columbia science textbooks (BC Science) quantitatively and qualitatively from four dimension: disciplinary concepts, interdisciplinary concepts, scientific and engineering practices, interdisciplinary integration and situation settings. By analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of STEM integration and engineering in BC science textbooks, this research provides four enlightenments for STEM integration during the compilation of science textbooks in China: paying attention to the integration of interdisciplinary concepts and focusing on the delivery of NOS, attaching importance to engineering in basic education and integrating STEM around engineering, creating real-life problem-solving situation locally to develop students’ social responsibility, arranging practices based on modeling, reasoning, argumentation and other rational thinking to provide chances for the development of students’ abilities of scientific inquiry, innovation, practice and problem solving. |
