The Influence of PrincipaFs Ethical Leadership on Teacher's Job Commitment in Primary and Middle School： The Moderating Effect of Work Values
To explove the intrinsic process of interaction between the leadership and the followers in education， this study investigated the relationship between principals ethical leadership and teachers' job commitment， with teachers' work values as a moderating variable. The main findings are as follows ： school principals ethical leadership scale included four dimensions： virtue cultivation， people-oriented ap- proach， alternative leadership and reflective practice； Alternative Leadership and Reflective Practice in the principals ethical leadership could predict teachers' job commitment and its different levels in energy， dedication and focus； the dimensions of Material Reward， Altruistic Dedication and Job Security in the teachers' work values could moderate the relationship between principals ethical leadership and teachers' job commitment. These findings show that principals need to reach a balanced management between the necessary Material Reward and the Altruistic Dedication. Maintaining teachers' job security s an important indication of showing respect to teachers and creating a harmonious atmosphere. Under such circumstance， the Alternative Leadership and the Reflective Practice promoted by the principals can enhance the cohesion and solidarity， inspire conscience， and bring things back to the essence of school education.
