英文摘要 | As a teaching activity, course assessment plays a key role in personnel training. Effective course assessment guarantees the quality of education students receive. Focusing on 636 courses provided by 20 foreign universities selected from the top 100 higher education institutes in the QS ranking 2015, the research analyzes methods of assessment used in these courses. In particular, the research compares assessment methods adopted by different types of courses, including undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses, basic courses and specialized courses, theory-oriented courses and courses stressing both theoretical learning and practices, and compulsory courses and optional courses. The study also discusses how different methods are weighted in assessment of the selected courses. Based on the analysis, suggestions are given for the further development and improvement of course assessment methods used in Chinese higher education. |
