Influences Factors on Academic Performances of Middle School Students and Its Gender Effects

In recent decades， the academic crisis of boys has attracted attention. Based on CEPS (2013-2014)， the research discusses the gender gap in school performance of middle school students. Then from the perspective of socialization theory， it analyzes the influences of parents， teachers and peer group on academic performances and its gender effects. The results show that， the performances of boys lag behind the girls. And parents’ rigorous academic management， highly involved in education， close parent-child relationships， classroom interaction and emotional interaction with teachers and motivated peer groups are positively related with higher performance. And this influences are posed more on male students than female students. Lastly， it puts forward some suggestions to improve male students’ performances to narrow the gap between genders.
