Interpreting the Quality Assurance Initiatives of Initial Teacher Education under the Leadership of the Coalition Government in the United Kingdom
The UK coalition government （fromMay，2010 toMay 2015）was ambitious in the field of initial teacher education（ITE），and therefore implemented a number of initiatives to ensure the quality of ITE. This paper interprets the coalition government’s quality assurance initiatives of ITE from the following five dimensions： policy assurance，organizational assurance，threshold assurance，completion assurance and assurance initiatives employed by those nontraditional ITE models. It then sketches the figure of quality assurance system of ITE under the leadership of the coalition government and proposes a number of points in relation to the construction of quality assurance system of ITE，which，hopefully，could inspire the construction of quality assurance system of ITE in China.
