The Strategies and Practices of Building World-Class Universities in France： Taking Sorbonne Universités as an example

In the late 1990s，with the rise of creating world- class university in countries all over the world， France had implemented a breakthrough major reform in higher education and explored the French model in building a world- class university，for response to the challenges of globalization and getting over the plight of their own development. This paper selects Sorbonne Universités as a typical case，explained the course of development， strategic planning and practice of building world- class university in France in，with its IDEX based mode of governance，practice- oriented innovative talents training system and world- class interdisciplinary research platform.
