英文摘要 | Under various tensions like decreasing enrollment rates and shortage of financial resources due to enrollment problem, liberal arts colleges in the U.S. are marching toward a new direction. Adjustment has been made at different levels, including the leading school-running and managing philosophy, curriculum and learning programs, fund-raising strategies and cooperation inside and outside of the country. The adjustment reflects the existing dilemma faced by liberal arts colleges and their countermeasures. Research on the school -running experience of liberal arts colleges in the U.S., especially the emphasis on liberal education by this specific type of higher education institution and its diversion under external pressure, could provide some references for Chinese universities and colleges to better fulfill their functions. |
