英文摘要 | Article outputs are the key indicator of research for faculty, university and nation, which is concerned with the academic development of faculty, the disciplinary development of universities, as well as the establishment of world-class universities for nation. Based on data from 2014 Faculty Survey and the publications of faculty indexed in the SCI/SSCI and CSSCI/CSCD datasets, the paper estimates the treatment effect of job satisfaction on the article outputs of faculty through the propensity score matching method. Key findings are as follows: compared with the traditional OLS estimation, the PSM estimators are higher; job satisfaction has significant positive effects on the article outputs of faculty overall; job satisfaction may not only enhance academic productivity, but also promote academic cooperation. The findings provide empirical evidence for faculty's academic and professional development, university evaluation reform and higher education development. |
