英文摘要 | In recent years , although online learning in higher education developed at a rapid speed, the high dropout rates for open online courses should not be ignored. Learners ' learning engagement as one of the most important effective factors of online learning equality has drawn considerable attentions, which is the trend of online learning research in the future. Based on current research on online learning engagement , this study initially proposes a theoretical model of online learning engagement which contains four elements, including behavior engagement, cognitive engagement, emotional engagement and social interaction engagement. Based on the model, this research put forward some hypothesis and designed a questionnaire. 662 students from five universities and colleges across Guangdong Province were surveyed by Using the structural equation model technique, this research explored the relationship and the interactive effect among the four elements of online learning engagement and verified the validity of the theoretical hypothesis. The investigation data were processed using SPSSI 7. 0 and AM OSI 7. 0. The result shows that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity. Behavior engagement cognitive engagement, emotional engagement, and social interaction engagement as the four key elements to measure online learning engagement are reasonable and acceptable. Results also indicate that the four elements are correlated each other. Behavior engagement is influenced by cognitive engagement, emotional engagement and social interaction engagement directly. Cognitive engagement has significant and positive impact on behavior engagement directly. Emotional engagement has significant and positive impact on cognitive engagement directly. Social interaction engagement has a significant positive impact on behavior engagement, cognitive engagement and emotional engagement. Therefore, social interaction engagement is the most vital element with great influence on the online learning engagement model. Meanwhile, the four elements have a different influence on the total learning engagement. For instance, social interaction engagement has more positive influence than cognitive engagement, emotional engagement and behavior engagement. According to the mediation effect analysis , this research finds that emotional engagement is an important mediation variable between social interaction engagement and cognitive engagement. Cognitive engagement is an important mediation variable between social interaction engagement and behavior engagement. Suggestions on how to improve the online learning design were proposed. First, to enlarge the effect of social interaction engagement, group dynamic in the online learning process should be established. Second, it is necessary to facilitate the comprehensive online learning by taking cognition and emotion into considerations. |
