英文摘要 | Based on the 2014 Faculty Survey in Chinese Universities, this article analyzes the main factors influencing professor's promotion time. It also measures the extent to which each factor accounts for the total variance of professor's promotion time. The study concludes that personality and human capital significantly influence the professor's promotion time. Institutional type, disciplinary background and social capital are not significant factors when it comes to promotion time. Based on the findings, the article puts forward several proposals about faculty appointment and promotion. |
