英文摘要 | Hall education in the major universities in Hong Kong SAR has been carrying out its function of whole-person education for a long time. It plays an important role in citizenship education beyond conventional higher education. This paper reports an empirical study on hall education in the University of Hong Kong based on participatory data collection in the field. By analyzing the collected data, the paper presents thorough critique and evaluation on the application procedure, management mechanism, daily operation and citizenship education function of residential halls. Problems associated with hall education have been addressed from the perspectives of the formation of students' learning habit, cultivation of civic awareness and development of global vision. Origins and possible solutions of these problems are also discussed. |
