“Polyphonic Imagination”: Imaginative Construction of the Images of Child and Its Reflection

“Child” is not be there from ancient times but be found. With the discovery of the child and the birth of children， “what being of children” becomes a central theme for people to explore. The images of child through academic - ideological texts， children's literature - video works， network media and other media have been produced， consumed and reproduced. However， these numerous lively images described， regulated and presented by media are not the real fact of child， but a “polyphonic” imaginary construction. Behind this is the reason of the need of the times， or a deep desire of people， or to satisfy public’s consumption and entertainment. All of these leave child to be a veritable “otherness”.
