The Scale and Allocation of Higher Vocational Education in Western China: Current State and Suggestions for Development

The scale and allocation of vocational colleges in western China exert direct influences on the coordinated and sustainable development of economy and society in this region. Over the past ten years， several issues have arisen in the development of western vocational colleges， such as a surge in overall scale， large provincial gap and regional imbalance at the prefecture level. Suggestions for the development of vocational colleges in western China include moderate scale development， reasonable regional layout， prefecture -orientation， brand building， and the enhancement of school level.
