中文摘要 | 核心文本课程作为通识教育核心课程模式的构成主体,是一种以经典阅读为媒介,以主动、反思与合作学习为特征的教学形式,有助于实现通识理念从重知识到重能力、再到核心价值观的转变。本文以哥伦比亚大学和香港中文大学为例介绍了核心文本课程在两校的发展历程,探讨经典阅读对大学生价值观形成的意义,分析核心文本的理论基础、选择标准以及课程实施中的困难与应对策略,为我国高校的通识教育改革提供思路和借鉴。 |
英文摘要 | This article is concerned with core text curriculum, which is an instructional mode closely related with classics reading and active, reflective and collaborative learning. Reviewing the history of core text curricula at Columbia University (the origin of classical education in modern United States) and the recent general education reform at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, it concludes by arguing the theoretic frameworks and the selective criteria of core text curricula. The required core text curricula, which are based on small classes and discussion, are supposed to change the ideas of liberal education from knowledge -centered to ability - oriented and then to core value -focused. This article also discusses the possibility of its implementation in mainland Chinese universities. |
