Comprehensive high schools integrate general high schools with secondary vocational education organically， which is a kind of school-running pattern complying with the demand of times， Japanese comprehensive high schools were founded in 1994， bearing lots of functions such as the general education， academic entrance education， vocational and technical education etc.， which promoted the flexibility of the high school education system and the diversity of education types* Studying the development history of comprehensive high schools in Japan and drawing lessons from the successful experience of its present system and reflections on the existing problems will undoubtedly benefit high school education system reform and curriculum reform in our country.
