美国“年度教师”评选是美国历史上最悠久、声望最高的优秀教师评选活动。本文以美国65名“年度教师”为研究对象，从其职业生涯发展、教育理念、师生关系、课堂教学等方面，透视其成为优秀教师的秘密，挖掘优秀教师的基本特质。在教师个人内在品质、对学生应负的责任、对知识应负的责任和对社会应负的责任四个方面有所启示，以期有助于完善教师教育和 培训，促进我国教师的专业成长。

The election of American “National Teachers” is the longest and most prestigious program on excellent teachers in American history. Baaed on analysis of 65 American ＂＂National Teachers＂， this paper explores the secrets on how they become the excellent teachers and their basic characteristics from the following aspects: their process of professional development， educational ideas， relationship between teachers and students， as well as teaching in the class. Finally， this paper puts forward some suggestions about personal inner qualities， the responsibilities to students， knowledge and society. Hope it will benefit improvement of teacher education and training， and promoting teachers? professional growth.
