中文摘要 | 教育教学是高校教师学术职业的重要组成部分,也是考察高校教师质量最关键的因素。本研究通过专家咨询、师生访谈、课堂观察、文本分析、数理统计等方法,开发了以教育教学为核心,由三个一级指标、八个二级指标和二十个观察指标构成的高校教师质量评价指标体系,并运用该指标体系,对上海不同类型高校的教师质量展开实证研究。结果显示:以教育教学为核心的上海高校教师质量基本获得师生认可,但未达到优良水平;教师质量与学生需要之间存在差距,教师对教育教学的认同感未能充分转化为被学生高度认可的教学能力;教师对学科教学研究不够重视;不同类型高校教师质量存在差异。针对上述问题,本研究提出了提升高校教师质量的建议。 |
英文摘要 | Teaching plays a fundamental role in teachers爷academic profession in higher education. Teaching per鄄 formance is a key element determining faculty quality. The paper developed an instrument measuring faculty quality from the teaching competence perspective based on various methods such as expert consultation, teacher and student in鄄 terview, classroom observation, text analysis and mathematical statistics. The instrument consists of 20 items that fall on eight categories and three dimensions. Using this instrument, the study conducted an empirical study on different types of faculty quality in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Shanghai. The results indicated that faculty quality of HEIs in Shanghai is good in general from the teaching competence perspective, but far from excellent. Teacher quality also varied among different types of HEIs. Although faculty identify themselves with the teaching role, they are equipped with very limited pedagogical content knowledge and, therefore, are unable to demonstrate their teaching competence to the level that meets student satisfaction. Based on research findings, recommendations were made for the improvement of faculty quality. |
