慈濟大學自創校之始即實施「慈濟人文課程」,迄今近二十年 。本文藉由文件分析與回顧,瞭解慈濟人文課程的緣起與演進;透 過訪談多位授課教師,探討該課程的教育目標、課程内容、教學設 計與實施成效,以及對該課程的展望。综合研究結果,供本校及其 他大學實施相關課程之參考。 慈濟人文課程的教育目標以落實核心價值「感恩、尊重、愛」 為主軸。課程内容包含共同課程、服務教育及一般課程。課程的教 材取材廣泛。教學方式多元,主要是藉由生活禮儀教育,教導學生 在行住坐臥間莊嚴自己;經由介紹慈濟的人事物,傳遞慈濟人文的 核心價值;以服務教育的實踐,培養學生「慈悲喜捨」的胸懷。從 學生對教師的回饋中,看到慈濟人文課程對學生的影響。目前,整 體人文境教的營造仍需協同教學單位的協助,教師藉由組成社群, 透過相互支持、集思廣益、精緻課程設計,降低教學負擔,並吸引 大學現有職志合一的教職員,經由培訓,投入慈濟人文課程的教學 行列。
英文摘要
The “Tzu Chi Humanities” course was initiated at the beginning of Tzu Chi University’s establishment. So far, it has been taught for nearly two decades. This study attempts to analyze documents to review the course’s development and progress. We interviewed several teachers who taught the course to understand the course’s educational goals, teaching contents, course design of activities, and its prospects. Finally, we summed up the findings to be used as a reference by ourselves and other universities, as they implement related courses. The course objective of Tzu Chi Humanities is to impart core values, gratitude, respect and love, to students. The course content can be divided into three parts. First, there are the common courses which include forums for Humanities, a lesson in the tea ceremony, a lesson in flower arrangement, the beauty of etiquette, etc. Second, there is service education which arranges for students to perform volunteer services. Third, there are normal courses in which teachers can choose topics and design courses based on their own beliefs. The teaching materials used in these courses are numerous and varied. Multiple instructional methods are applied to introduce the people, events, and matters of Tzu Chi in order to transmit Tzu Chi Humanities core values. Through life etiquette education, students are taught how to have seemly behaviors of their daily lives. After completing the course, some students stated that it had a far-reaching influence on their lives. At present, the teachers have formed a community where they collaborate and support each other, through brainstorming to refine the course, reduce the teaching load, and create a better instructional environment for Tzu Chi Humanities. We have also dedicated ourselves to select and train favorable faculty and staff to be reserve teachers and solve the demand for qualified teachers.
